A touching story

A friend of mine sent me this story. I found it quite touching, so I decided to pass it on to see what reaction it got. I realise it has nothing to do with Carvoeiro, but it leaves a good feeling.
Danielle keeps repeating this size thing over and over again. We have been back to the Cat and Dog Home at least five times. It is weeks now since we started all this, her mother told the volunteer. "What is she looking for," asked the volunteer. "Puppy size," replied her mother." "We have plenty puppy's of all sizes," said the volunteer. The mother replied in frustration, "I know you have, and we have seen most of them." Just then Danielle walked into the office. "Well, did you find one." asked her mother. "No, not this time." replied Danielle with sadness in her voice.
"Can we come back at the weekend, you never know when new ones will be arriving." "Unfortunately, there is always a supply." said the volunteer.
Danielle took her mothers hand and heading for the door she turned and said, "Don't worry, I will surely find one this weekend."
Over the next few days, both her Mum and Dad had long conversations with her. They both felt she was being difficult, and hard to please. "This weekend is the last time." said her Dad in frustration. "We don't want to hear any more about puppy size either." added her mother.
When Saturday arrived, they were the first people to arrive at the home. Danielle knew her way around by now, so she ran to the section which housed the smaller dogs. Tired of the usual routine, her Mum sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first row of cages. Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a closer look. As she went down the line her Mum heard her say, "Sorry, you're not the one." She got to the last cage and the volunteer opened the door. The child carefully lifted up the little puppy and held it close. This time she took a little longer. Suddenly she shouted with joy, "Mummy, Mummy, I have found my puppy, this is the one for me. I know it. I know by the size" "He is the same size as all the other puppy's you have held over the last few weeks." said her Mum. "No Mummy, its not the size, its the sighs. When I held him in my arms, he sighed." she replied. "Do you remember when I asked you a long time ago, what love is, you told me love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the bigger the sigh."
The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mum did not know whether to laugh or cry as she stooped to hug her little girl, so she did both.
"Mummy, every time you hold me, I sigh. When you and Daddy come home from work and hug each other, you both sigh. I knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it close." Then holding the puppy close to her face, she said. "He really, really loves me, I can hear the sighs from his heart."
