Sneaky addition to Covid-19 rules

Post by roy4eyes »

Under the updated state of emergency Lagoa, hence Carvoeiro, has been added to the list of high risk Covid-19 areas.

Therefore from this Friday, 27th, we shall be under the same rules as Portimao, Faro etc with no movements from 13.00 Saturday until 05.00 on Monday, lasting initially for 2 weeks.

This means we shal only have 5.5 days a week to cough and sneeze over each other :?

Under the latest decree there are now four categories of risk - moderate, high, very high and extreme. The weekend restriction on travel only applies to municpalities in the high and extreme categories. Lagoa is in the high risk category as is Portimao. Silves is in the moderate category. A useful Safe Communities unofficial translation of the decree can be found at the following link:-

Sorry I missed out an important word. The weekend restrictions apply of course to the very high and extreme categories and not the high category.

The initial report in Algarve News was misleading. It now appears that Portimao & co. have been downgraded equivalent Lagoa and not the other way round.
Apologies for causing any panics
