Anybody have any suggestions where you can bring young kids for entertainment after dinner?

Lets have a little more sympathy for those with young kiddies (by the way.you sound like an emergency..are you trying to escape yours? )
......
But it is difficult for young folk with kids now..especially where hols are conerned..
They cant take them out of school..except during term breaks (when it would be a whole lot cheaper for them).....
and its hard for young couples to get time for themselves with kiddies..so they really do need a place where the kids can play after theyve eaten..and 'mum & dad' can have a quiet drink alone...

Ellie - don't you just love these people - talk about sport and they complain; a bit of off topic banter and they compain and as soon as someone comes up with a sensible question, on topic and no doubt of interest to many they start making snide and unhelpful remarks.

It doesn't really bother me what people say or think but it does worry me that people like guest999 are out there and allowed to breed! (though judging from the mentality of his reply he will need to be a hermaphrodite to actually get anywhere)

By the way have sent Peter a PM with some info in case anyone finds it offensive.

Graham - would you mind posting the info. on the forum - I would certainly be interested. We arrive in the village on Friday morning with our 2 girls aged 8 and 3. I have made a note about Play Oasis from previous posts and we always visit the playground near the church - any other suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks Angela

Graham send me some great info:

"If you have dinner at Pizza Paraiso (in Quinta do Paraiso) there is a climbing frame and crazy golf course in a big field behind the restaurant (food is pretty good as well and v. child friendly)

Eating in the restaurants at Monte Carvoeiro is always good since there are usually loads of children running around the square by the fountain, and if you get the right table you can keep an eye on them whilst you relax with coffee and Medronha.

I think Playoasis is also open until 8 or 9pm some evenings (their number is in freemaps - best phone to check). This is a large indoor and outdoor soft play area with a licensed bar so you can enjoy yourselves whilst they go ballistic. Playoasis also does a chicken night with about six types of chicken. Very good value - adults 8E and children pay half their age in Euros (i.e. 2E for a four year old). I think this is on Mondays.

Also worth considering are the the beach restaurants at Caneiros and Pintandino - again great food and the children can happily run around the beach whilst you relax over the rest of the meal.

There is also always the playground on the cliff top up from the beach - great place to watch the sunset and let them burn off a bit of steam. "

For the last 2 years we have gone down to the Almansor which has a nightly entertainment programme (folk music, magician, dancers etc) a little bit naff but it fascinates the kids and just gives you an hour to relax with a G&T on their magnificent balcony. Well recommended particularly at sunset.

The restaurant Vale do Milho (in the Vale do Milho complex funnily enough) has a small playground which is sand covered. Our 2 year old had a great time there while we enjoyed a lovely meal.

If you look at the Restaurant Reviews section of the forum, you will be able to see a string of comments on how good it is (albeit a bit quiet). The owners are also very friendly towards children, but we found this to be the case in most restaurants in the Algarve.
