Activities in CVO area

What is happening in CVO next week ?

I am moving to the Algarve and would like to join Rotary, Lions, Masons - who do I contact to join them ?

I would like to see some traditional fado or jazz while I am here - anyone know where it is occurring ?

I am interested in pottery classes, chess, bridge, bowls, pool, squash, keep fit etc. - are there any in the area ?

These are items which should be published in the activities topic - in the same way as the ramblers do so successfully - so please go to my post under activities and see if you can give some input to lighten up the dull winter nights !!

I have heard that Fado on a sunday night at Casa de pasto Calvario is good, if that's your scene...and there's always Dave at The Jailhouse, or has he shut for the winter now?

There's a guy in Lagoa who produces a monthly summary of Arts & Music events in & around Lagoa ( as you may know, publicity is not the Portuguese strongpoint).....when I get the next one, I'll let you know.

Thanks Geoff. My idea though was to get some activity on the 'Activities' on a regular basis. In the same way as you do so successfully on your 'ramblers' but for other interests.

Noted, have done so, see :

But, to remind you and anyone else, the CVO Ramblers are now in full swing with a winter walks programme on a Monday, currently very ably led by Linda & Russell. When we come out, as a bit of an experiment, we are trialling " easier" walks on a Thursday as well...more a Stroller than a Strider....we are a small informal group that welcomes new walkers : we invariably finish with a coffee/beer and, latterly, the local Prata de Dia....hope to see some new faces and perhaps even you Rod?
