wifi rental
Hi there
Hope someone can can help me. We are coming out to cvo end of june but our villa does not have wifi. Although this doesnt bother me my sun love to watch netflix etc.
When i was arranging my transfers with yellowfish i seen that you can rent a little router from them.
Has anyone on here used anything like that.

Re: wifi rental
Hi mazpop,
I haven't seen the ones that yellowfish offer but I know there is one that you can pick up and return at Faro Airport. I suspect it could be the same one that yellowfish are offering but I'm not 100% sure.

It seems to be quite handy, all the info is in the FAQ and you can calculate the cost on the site also.
Hope this is of use, enjoy your holiday.

Most providers sell pre pay internet dongles which you keep and just top when needed. We used Kangaru (now Noz) for a few years before a permanent WiFi connection. Vodafone and others do the same. Once bought it is always there for future visits. They work really well and almost as fast as a landline connection. Most have outlets in the shopping centre at Guia. Well worth it if you visit frequently. Cannot remember the cost but the purchase was then about 30 Euros and general browsing quite cheap, about 1 Euro per hour. Costs for other downloads may be much more. Top ups are done via an ATM just like a mobile phone.
Hope this is useful and enjoy your holiday.

Yes, pre-pay dongles work very well and you can also buy them from the phone shop in Intermarche.
Warning: Check when you buy it whether they expire. I remember buying one some years ago and between visits it wasn;t used for over 60 days and just expired. It was a real pain to top up again. Things may have changed in the intervening years, so just check when buying.DaveK wrote: Once bought it is always there for future visits.

I use Portugal Internet and have been very happy with them and their support is great. Coverage was very good too. http://www.portugalinternet.com/
