We made an exploratory investigation when they first opened
and found their prices very competitive and the selection of
everything excellent.

Hi ,
Just returned from a holiday in Carvoeiro and can confirm that Apolonia is excellent , especially if you have any allergies. It's clean, competitively priced and you can get practically everything . We had one visit to Aldi next door and then 2 weeks of Apolonia shopping.

Interesting, can anyone make a comparison with Intermarche in terms of prices, quality and availability of brands found in the UK? I have to get specific items at home eg Alpro unsweetened almond milk, if I can get this type of product I would definitely pay them a visit. Thanks, Jez

Hi Jez I purchased unsweetened almond milk in Apolonia; not Alpro though, I think it was Rude Health and quite pricey approximately 4 euros!

hope what you say is true - but when you say competitive - with whom? can't be cheaper than Pingo or Aldi surely??my memories of Apolonia were of a similar shop to Waitrose - everything there, good quality, but expensive.

I would also be keen please on price and availability of goods with Interrmarche? Planning to start in Aldi and then head to Intermarche but more than happy to go to Appolonia if I can get the same range at comparable prices?

Im just looking forward to shopping around. I love the idea of skipping between Aldi, where I buy my naughty chocolate, and Apolonia, then into Pingo, and finishing off at Intermarche,
I mean, how much more fun can you have, whilst remaining vertical??

Depends when you are here. If you did that at the moment, it would take all Day with the mass of people here, plus traffic diverts, as some tourist has written off his car at Poco Partido.
Plus you will need a large Bank Loan to do a regular shop at Waitrose, sorry Apalonia!

Watch out for the kebabs in apolonia. My wife bought 3 fillet steak kebabs, 41euros total.
As a Yorkshire man , I could have bought a whole cow for that...
