I'm sure I saw some posts about this a few months back but what is being built near the Aldi on the way in to cvo?

Correct they are 2/3 months behind due to the new water course seeping into the foundations.

I really hope that they never build it, if it is Apalonia. Who in their right mind would even contemplate it with four other big Supermarkets within a Kilometer of this one.
Can't be for the locals or Tourists. One mans Folly. Lucky I am not on the Board.
There are so many other retail outlets that could have been built for the benefit of the Community and their owners pockets.

I am sure they will have done their homework. Of course Apolonia is for the tourists and residents alike, just not for all tourists or all residents. Apolonia stock quality ingredients and some items not readily available elsewhere. Certainly it will not be for everyone but I am sure it will thrive. Luxury brands are delivering the best performance for some time for their shareholders currently. See Rolls Royce results as an example. Competition is good for all. My neighbour tells me that Izi in Lagoa is going to become a Continente Supermarket later this year. He is an electrician and has been asked to quote for some of the electric work for the conversion.

Clearly the owners of all these businesses do not just open stores willy nilly so something is persuading them that Lagoa is a good place to be!!!

Called at the Izi going towards Lagos last week with the exception of ourselves and three staff the place was empty with hardly anything on the shelves,the staff looked miserable and cold my wife and I felt sorry for them.

It does rather smack of over saturation doesn't it?

News that there will be two quality supermarkets soon in the area shows there is a lot of confidence in the area which is good news and will offer a wide range of products and quality to all. They will certainly put pressure on the Intermarche and the other one near Lagoa which may improve them too, another good thing. We usually stock up in the Continente on the way in from the airport so it will be really convenient.

Some of them will go the way of Tescos. At least, unlike Tescos, I don't hold shares in any of them.

Whilst its over saturation, its a massive vote of confidence for CVO, quality supermarkets are recognising the potential of the area. Hopefully good news

Signs have gone up at the site over the last couple of days confirming that an Apolonia store is coming there.
