Regret I won't be in Portugal for the football but there is a right old ding-dong going on here (England) about the flying of St George's flags from buildings, cars, etc.
What is the situation in CVO and Portugal generally? Are there plenty of Portugese flags flying everywhere - cars, houses, etc., by "the man/woman in the street"?
This place is getting so politically correct that it is stupid - why the hell can't me and my kids enjoy the patriotism of supporting our team without the politically correct brigade putting their oar in?
Sorry all you Scots, Welsh, Irish etc., but I'm sure that if your team was playing next week, you would be equally patriotic.
I think it is time to relocate full-time to CVO so I can lead a sensible existence.
Have fun in the sun - luckily today we are, but it will soon be winter - in only two weeks the evenings will be drawing in earlier!!!

I don't know if I can get a complete set though, on the beach the usually just come with the "bottom half" of the flag.

Pictures of the bottom half will do just fine. I think I'm quite capable of imagining what the rest of the flag would look like on the top half - provided you show that in the picture

Sorry Ellie, but I will have to decline on providing pictures of the male swimwear flags....for one simple reason...I was sitting in a street café the other day enjoying an orange juice when one of these fashion-mishaps crossed my line of sight.
I had a hard time recognizing the flag as two thirds were covered by what appeared to be some sort of built-in beer storage device. Needless to say, that any attempt to photograph such a specimen would result in severe injuries to my eyesight, psychological damage as well as possible damage to the camera itself.

Besides I only have a 35mm lense and that angle is just not wide enough.

Read in the Daily Mail that the 'powers that be' have banned the flying of England flags in Bradford (scene of race riots a few years ago) as it might antagonise the Asian population. The strange thing is that the Asian population state that they have no problem with seeing the flag being flown as it shows that the country is multi racial / cultural.

Political correctness gone mad.

IF Wales had qualified I would certainly be flying the Welsh Dragon - after all, what's wrong in getting behind YOUR country. Try telling an American to take down the Stars & Stripes which appears to be proudly flown from every building in the USA.

Totally agree with English guest's post. Maybe if we put a turban on the Red Cross, we'd all be politically correct ? What do we have to do to be 'correct' in our own country ?
We have an abysmal government, we are soon to open up our doors for potentially 73 million E. Europeans, and of course the subsequent freebies galore for them (not their fault, it's the system). Nothing for the pensioners who fought in WW2 though ! We need some morale boosters somewhere. Now someone is saying we can't fly our own flag.
Don't think England will get anywhere, but we need this for the country's morale. I'm hoping they really do well. Wish they had the heart of our rugby team though and a manager who's not in the news for Ulrika and sad Nancy (V.sad Ulrika for that matter). Oh, and forgot Chelsea.
Fly the flags supporters, but please, don't let us down with any trouble. Portugal's too nice a place for that.
