We are visiting Carvoeiro next week for the first time in October after having stayed many times in July/August and I was just wondering how cool is it in the evening at the moment. Looking at the weather forecasts it appears to be quite warm in Carvoeiro at the moment fingers crossed it will be the same next week.

Evening temperature is still around 20 degrees but a cool breeze can often blow up in the evening so taking a wrap of some sort or a cardigan is often a good idea if you plan to sit outside. If you see elderly Portuguese with umbrellas then take an umbrella with you - they always seem to know
As autumn sets in you will probably see Portuguese in sweaters and winter coats whilst the tourists are still walking around in shorts and tee shirts.

Brought a sweater with me, arrived 20 Sept, but haven't needed to wear it at night so far!

Found the evening temperatures much warmer than usual for this tinder of year. Have had to have the air-con on in the bedroom in order to get to sleep. Apart from tonight which is a little cooler (still 21 degrees at 12.35 am) it has been 24 and 26 at 2am.

Last week and a half been very warm at night. The days have been hot and sunny. On wed 1st Oct I went to Algarve shopping and Leroy Merlin. Came out of Leroy Merlin early afternoon and it had hit 34oC. The locals were declaring that summer had finally arrived.
