My wife Jo was looking forward to her Gin Fizz in the Talvax bar on Wednesday, unfortunately when we got there it was locked up
don't know if it was closed permanently or not. I know when we were last here Rachel said it was a struggle to make a profit and the landlord was selling the property notice it's for sale now ,anyone got any what the situation is.

We were in CVO for 4 nights in June.
Rachel told us that the landlord had put it up for sale, but she thought he'd struggle to sell it this year.
Sergio and Rachel told us they would probably look for another bar to rent.
Having said that a couple of evenings when we were in CVO it was shut early evening on two of the nights.
My wife and I loved their cocktails; best in town by a long way.
Shame they're no longer there; hope they find somewhere else.

Spoke to Rachel earlier this week. The bar has been sold and she was talking about taking it easy for a while. Talvez, as set up by them was never popular in August anyway, so they may not open up again too soon.

We hope they find somewhere suitable for their unique style of bar and that its another success - as they say in Portuguese talvez (maybe).

Sad it has closed as they were a fab couple who made everyone so very welcome. We had been visiting the bar since they opened up.
The drinkie poos were the very best in town and they will be well and truly missed.

Hope anyone who sees them could ask them to post details of Sergios families hotel in the Venice of Portugal for us.
We were going to come to CVO next May and intended to have one or two sherberts in the bar and get details of the hotel in the pretty place his family owns as we wanted to go there for our Wedding Anniversary in October of next year (10th)
However perhaps they will open up a bar in CVO again b4 we get over next May.

Now called Kula Bar, total re-vamp by folk that have Bar Havana, across and slightly down the road. Check out Margarida's newsletter for info.
Just saying.

Was in Kula in January before it was open , Craig took me over and showed me the work that was being done . It looked like it was going to be nice and have since seen the photos on their Facebook page . Nice bright modern addition to the village . Can't wait to go out late April .

The problem with this bar is unfortunately there is no outside space really, which is what people want in summer. It will have to establish itself as a late night venue, if it's got a licence. To succeed I think

Havana has hardly any outside space and is still very busy , I'm sure these guys will make a success of Kula as well .

Had a look at photos of Kula online, it looks really well. I must say we did enjoy the cocktails in Talvaz, hopefully they will start business in an another location in Carvoeiro in the future.
