Help! Will this affect us?

In 10 days We are staying at “villa ninho branco” at QDP in Carvoeiro
We apparently have a 3 bedroom villa to ourselves, which all sounded great

Booking information has now come to us and we have been informed with
Thomson who have wrote to us today (10 days before we go!)
To advise:-

“ we have been advised of works that have commenced at villa ninho branco. aprox 200 metres behind the villa, townhouses are being built and a new villa is being built aprox 150 metres to the other side. Machinery is currently in use and there is a crane. Noise and dust levels are low, although work can be seen, areas affected are the pool area and gardens, anticipated completion for the townhouses april 05 and for the villa December 04”

Do you know of the works which are going on and do you think we will be affected? We feel pretty distraught about this.

Any advice would be so welcome, as we don't know whether to quit or whether our holiday is ruined as we were so looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday after a spring of Trauma

Thanks for any replies :(

My husband had a look on his travels this morning and doesn't think it will be too much of a problem.

The building work is not right next door to the house but across a piece of open land and a road.

Don't worry about it too much, come out with an open mind and discuss it with the tour operator afterwards if it proves to be awful.

Hope you enjoy yourselves anyway

Dont panic. My husband says most Portuguese building work is done manually, and the crane that was being used last year was electric and does not make a noise.

Hope this helps you a little.

MASSIVE THANKS!
