I am bit unsure if it is appropriate to post this here, but do please try this restaurant, both the service and the food are amazing and the menu is interesting, if you are a foodie, try this.

Went there last night - not overly impressed.

The food took an age to arrive - and it was not that warm. They were not that busy - 3 tables occupied - 13 people and 5 of them had already eaten.

My Wife had lamb and it consisted mostly of bone - very little meat. I had the Pig's Cheek it was very tasty - but tepid.

It was sensibly priced but we won't be going back

We visited this place during our stay here last week.
The food was delicious and very different from what most Brits eat. Keep an open mind and I am sure you will enjoy it all if you choose wisely for those not used to very Germanic fayre. He runs a cookery school too and came down from Monchique where he had an establishment before.
The family concern is a great find and their son arrived for a break last weekend from Germany where he too is a chef.
There is a magazine on line to peruse which Martin puts together.
His daughter was taking the photos of his latest creations when we were there and managed to taste some of the food too which was wonderful.
Yes there are mainly Germans eating there, mostly coming from Algar Seca which seems to be predominately Germans or Nordiks staying there.
Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the food, the ambience and the family orientated atmosphere it portrayed. They were friendly,chatty and the passion for the food and experience is clear to all. The price was very reasonable too and it is also a lovely stop off place enroute to town or back for a tipple which we did freqently.
