What is the new Aldi in Lagoa like? looked as if it was going to be quite spacious.

We were over on the opening day and it was packed. They were giving out lots of samples and they were all good.
Worth a visit.

We like it, rather in the same way we like Iceland......you can get goodies and naughties you wouldn't normally see in Pingo or Intermarche', + some things are cheaper.
For example.....cheaper and varied wines, different crisps, and wonderful German marzipan chocolate.

It's a useful alternative......dont think it will reduce prices elsewhere....just improve consumer choice.

We tried Aldi last week - very cheap (especially Wine) compared with Intermarche and open until 9.00 pm even on Sundays - However very limited range of fresh meat.

Certainly worth a try

Very good bread - they do a loaf called Rustico which is larger than the panrico small sandwich stuff, and it tastes very much like uk bread - €0.95 so cheap as well. Cheapo wines - a Palmela DOC 1.49. The rest is pretty much as elswhere and the meat doesnt come close to Pingo.

What about fish? I see meat seems to be better in Intermarche.
