The modifications to the Carvoeiro Intermarche can be seen, they are installing new cool cabinets and changing the layout.
Hopefully it will be easier to get around than the old store and prices will be more in line with their other stores in the Algarve.

Perhaps the new Aldi has kicked them into Gear.

The new cool and freezer cabinets are certainly an improvement.
I do wonder if that new shiny floor will be an accident waiting to happen.

Will the prices come down?....I very seriously doubt it!!

Is the Intermarche considered expensive then? We always shop there, though we might try the Aldi at Lagoa in April.

We tried Aldi last week - very cheap (especially Wine) compared with Intermarche and open until 9.00 pm even on Sundays - However very limited range of fresh meat.

Certainly worth a try

I totally agree with Bruce Wallis in that the floor is an accident waiting to happen. I appreciate that the floor is not finished but when I was in there last week I could feel my feet slipping slightly on the floor and it wasn't even wet.

I also agree - It was absolute chaos there last week as they were fitting the new units around the customers, although I believe they are closing to complete the work. I went back to get some juice at the end of our shopping and the cabinet where it had been had been removed !

They're fast at taking away but dead slow at replacing. :D

The amount of money they rake in I would have thought they'd modernize/update this store every few years! :D

we're blessed; when I started coming here we had 1 small Ali Super mini marche on the out road, otherwise we had to drive to Modelo in Portimao for the big shop; now we're coated in them, and a good variety, happy days :-)

Amen to that sunman - when we arrived in 2002 we were in the same boat - if you wanted anything freshly bought on a Sunday - forget it! Now the choice is great.

we will try the new Aldi next week. We shop a great deal in intermarche and eventually got their loyalty card. They were revamping when we came for the weekend a month ago. we have never been to another Intermarche so cannot compare. We just love the fact in Portugal they really want to help your pocket so you can get tanked up every day. Whoop! Whoop! Hic! Hic!

Visited Aldi yesterday & was a bit underwhelmed. Good selection of cooked meats & chocolate Easter Bunnies.

Is it any different to any other Aldi?
