Does anybody know when the water is likely to be back in Mato Serrao? It's been off since midnight (Saturday) :o

The emergency water board number is 964 423 244 but they dont speak english

The water should be back on again at 4.00pm today Sunday 26th August. :)

Andy - yes after 2 hours. I asked a Portuguese speaking friend to call them and it rang without reply for the two hours (lunch time).

When they eventually answered the time they gave for the restoration of water was spot-on. I suspect the damaged water main was on the road to Lagoa coming from the Sesmarias area. There was a lot of water in the field on the right hand side and there's a crater now where they have tried to repair the surface.

We seem to avoid the water issues others in neighbouring areas experience.
We got back on thursday and have not had any problems with our supply.

The wetlands on the lagoa road were there on thursday and judging by the condition must have been there for some time.
The drainage channel from the treatment plant is carrying a lot of water ( full of small fish ) and it is probably seepage from this that is responsible.
For those interested there is a flock of over 20 Ibis in the fields with other smaller wading bird present could be snipe ?
