Try O Casarao in Lagoa. We have eaten there several times, very good and reasonably priced, and noticed quite a few locals locals waiting for piri piri take away.

The best piri-piri, by far is in in a restaurant in Guia, called Rameirez.
Turn left off the n125 into Guia. Take the 1st left and its up on your right....3 floors of nothing but the best piri-piri in the Algarve.

From CVO/Lagoa suggest turning right off the N125 may be quicker
In our opinion O Casarao is just as good - quicker but not such a good ambience.

The best takeaway is on the in road, on the left hand side. Frango, something or other, opposite the bakery. closed saturdays.

thanks for replies,
I'm picking up a large order for a gathering in Carvoeiro so going to Guia is out; Casarao sounds like favourite,

Come on Laser - it doesn't matter whether you start from CVO or Lagoa - you still turn right at the roundabout
Pop in for an eye examination next visit
