Pregnancy whilst visiting

Hi - wondering if anyone can help. We've been to Carvoeiro a few times now, however this time (Sept 2012) I'll be 18 weeks pregnant. Hopefully I wont need medical assistance, but if I do - has anyone got any tips about where my nearest port of call should be in an emergency? Nearest A&E etc? Any tips would be gratefully received.

hi,
congratulatons.
There are several doctors in Carvoeiro.
the Chemists (pharmasists) here are highly trained and often able to help with minor things without a visit to the doctor.
Theres a health centre (centro do Saude in Lagoa - just follow the signs).
The nearest A&E is Portimao - easy to find 15 minutes drive, just follow the N125 towards Portimao and its clearly sign posted (hopital) fromthe road.

Don't forget your EHIC (UK reciprocal health card) just in case
