Don't think so, it is the bar/restaurant at the top of the cliff to the west of carvoeiro beach

if you look on the restaurant map you will see that it is off the carpark and down the steps at Algar Seco, allthough it is spelt with only one 'n'
also if you look on page 6 of restaurant reviews the same query is being asked :? :? :?

Come off it....nobody ever willingly thinks about Boteca!! :D

I can confirm, that Bonecca is the bar at the bottom of the steps at Algar Seco

Its a good location but not one of the best value places.
Must be the extra cost involved carrying everything up and down those stairs.

Ref Boteca, there always seem to be people eating there so the location must score over quality..

Have any of our gourmet food critics actually eaten at Boteca in recent years or are we all guilty of going on past criticisms ?

Perhaps we should have a 'meet-up' there and if it is still as bad as its reputation we could have a mass walkout - or, if it indeed has improved, recommend it because after all it does undoubtedly have the best view of any restaurant in CVO.

Personally I feel the Boneca Bar is over-rated - first time last year we got a bill for €60 for a very ordinary meal with only beer and soft drinks for two, and the second time after being ignored for over half-an-hour walked out and had an excellent meal at the Bistro Algar Seco just up the hill.

Full agreement there, meet up and let the rest of us know how you got on

Wedgepat, can't comment on the food but the location is lovely for a jug of sangria. Views some of the best in town - in more ways than one :)
