I'm arriving back in Carvoeiro on Saturday for my fifth visit. Can anyone give me information about vineyards in the area and where the most reasonable tours with lunch can be found. Many thanks. :?:

You can visit Cliff Richards vineyard - just behind Algarve Shopping. They do tours and tasting (but not lunch). You need to pre-book. More info is on their website:

Its an interesting couple of hours.

If you can get hold of a Dining Out magazine there are a couple of vineyards in the area who do tours and tastings, I can't recommend anywhere as we haven't done any of them yet but we will be .... soon

The last edition of Inside featured an article on wine tasting in the western Algarve (http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1w6i4/ ... Silves--20). There's also Cliff's Adega do Cantor which has been mentioned and Quinta do Barranco Longo (not sure if they do tastings though). Most don't do lunch as such but offer snacks on request. If you venture a bit further north to the Alentejo there's the fabulous Herdade do Esporão, Herdade da Malhadinha Nova and Vila Vita's Herdade dos Grous, all of which have restaurants.
