What services are offered to people who want to explore the Algarve by train? I know there is a station in Silves and I've used the service from Tunes to Lisbon, but are there any journeys I could take for sightseeing sort of around the southern area of Portugal, or even cross border journey's to Gib like?

Estombar station runs services to Faro and Lagos, old silver beaten up trains, sometimes missing doors, you'd love them Pato

You could get the train east all the way to Vila Real de Santo Antonio and then the ferry to Ayamonte.
