We are coming back to Carvoeiro for two weeks from 6 July, and since it'll be our granddaughter's 3rd birthday whilst we're there, would like to take her to Zoomarine. Is it the school holidays in Portugal at this time, and therefore the park is likely to be very crowded?

It is mainly families from overseas who visit zoomarine in the summer as those of us who are lucky enough to live here go in the low season when there are fewer people about.
July and August are the busiest times here and the park will be at its busiest but I have found that even with lots of people around you are still able to see all the things that you want to. Just be sure to get to the shows a little before the starting time to make sure you get a seat with shade.

Those in the know take cool boxes with food, drinks and a sun shade with them.
Sunday seems to be the day when the Portuguese families visit, although in these recession hit days it may not be as popular.

When we went last year, you could pre-book tickets on line for a small saving on cost and bigger one on queuing to get in!

A friend who works there says weekends are often the quietest time at Zoomarine in the summer. Agree about getting there early for shows, you'll get a little programme so you can plan out your day.

Sunday morning is the least busy time in peak season, went a week last Monday and it was a good day out
