I just had to pay £485 to get my daughter and family back to Bristol on the 2nd of Nov.
She is a teacher, so is caught in the grasping airline trap.
The same flights, a week later would be 25% of the halfterm rip off charge.

She can always get a job outside of education but then she wouldn't get the long holidays. I'm in the same boat and it can be annoying but I just think along the lines that the school holiday prices are standard and the cheap flights are discounted to get bums on seats. Otherwise, the flights wouldn't go. What annoys me is that I negotiated with my HT to have a few odd days off, so I could get cheaper flights. It appears that EJ has stopped flying from Faro to Bristol for two or three days after schools start back.
BTW, the 3 flights I booked last night would have cost me another £69 if I'd left it until this morning!

EJ have certainly reduced their 2012/13 winter schedule which shows how much confidence they have in the economy.
We are indeed fortunate in being able to travel almost as and when we want to.

Both Ryan Air and BMI Baby have not yet released their flights further than the 22nd October out of East Midlands but if they make cuts on the amount of flights that they had this year then it will ne almost non existent. Jet 2 dont fly out of EMA during the winter months either and we might be left with having to travel out of Stansted.
We booked to come out at the end of April this year and had to use Leeds Bradford and looking at the price of the flight today it has gone done since we booked earlier this week. I might be able to get my timing right soon to get the lowest prices.

I have just been having a mini trawl looking for flights from Faro to Blackpool. They are either stupidly expensive and I mean expensive or they depart and return at unearthly times.
