Its the mad one again! Just checking that I can easily obtain a first aid kit in compliance with any rental laws. Anyone know where I should buy one as its not the sort of thing I have ever looked for in Intermarche before. In relation to escape signs I take they must be in the lingo and not English. LICY

Yes LICY I would expect you can, just add nail polish remover, eybrow tweezers, corn plasters and moistiorising cream to the contents and you'll be fine.

Pato my feet are beautiful, sure you look lovely however with pretty pink nail polish.

If you're renting to holiday-makers wouldn't they need to be in (mainly) English?

LICY,

Signage must be in Portuguese to conform to touristic licence, including the plan/layout of the property which must also be displayed.
However most safety signs needed will be in European picture format as well as language so the majority of people will recognise them. However I doubt any one on holiday ever takes a blind bit of notice to any signage or instructions, so I wouldn't worry too much about them being in Portuguese.

You can of course if you wish, put information about the signage in different languages in a guest information pack, this is what we recommend our clients do.

In my villa the fire extinguisher, fire blanket & fire exit signs are largely symbolic, fluorescent & any words are Portuguese. The pool sign says "No Diving" and the pool depth is shown in metres.

I had a current Tourist & Habitation Licence using these signs until I converted the sauna & garage into an apartment; I am now much poorer and still awaiting the powers that be to make me legal again!

If you apply now Licy you might get legal before Portugal exits the EU & invents some strange new laws of their own! (only joking - good luck)

Put them in small picture frames and change them when you are in the house to something you like.

Do you not need a habitation lisence first before you can apply for the rental lisence ?

Do you still have to have the " sound insulation test " as part of your habitation lisence ?
