Uma parte da cobertura da zona do "check in" do aeroporto de Faro caiu esta segunda-feira de madrugada, provocando cinco feridos ligeiros, disse o comandante Abel Gomes, do Comando Distrital de Operações e Socorro de Faro.
"Houve efectivamente uma ocorrência no aeroporto de Faro, quando caiu uma parte da cobertura na zona do check in, que provocou 5 feridos ligeiros", indicou a mesma fonte. Durante a madrugada, o CDOS de Faro registou um total de 37 ocorrências, em cinco municípios do distrito de Faro, totalizando mais três feridos ligeiros.

O mau tempo está também hoje a impedir a aterragem e descolagem de aviões no Aeroporto de Faro, de acordo com fonte aeroportuária.

Well spotted Andy. I just looked a the real-time flight information and it seems like they expect things to get moving again by mid-day.

B#gger! My wife was due to arrive 2moro after cancelling at last minute when I flew here on Friday! Checked Faro website, departures all listed as 'scheduled' but several arrivals showing over 45 minutes delay. Remember arrival/departure hall regularly flooded when heavy rain.

My daughter has just taken off from Luton. Due to take off 0710 this morning so not to bad.

My son's still on the tarmac at Gatwick, should have been arriving at 10.50am. Apparently the pilots just announced they'll be leaving in 10 minutes. Fingers crossed.
Both Flightstats & Faro airport arrivals webpage have kept telling me for the last hour that the flight in airbourne & only 5 minutes behind schedule .

thank goodness for cvo.com...as usual our local english "newspapers" have zero info..eg the portugalnews managed to tell us a football result under "breaking news".the resident nothing, algarve daily news nothing...but then the airport web site tells me that a plane I had to go and meet is still on schedule for 9.15 although it hast even taken off from the uk..not a word about the roof falling down.

"hold the front page" the portugal news have just printed something, not bad for breaking news hours after it happened!!

just checked at 10.34 the plane I have to meet is still arriving at 9.15 nothing under "remarks" re its status
