For those who didnt know sadly Barnards Restaurant closed its doors for the last time on weds 28th September. For those of us who visited the restaurant this is a sad day which could be a result of the ecnomic climate.

We wish Roger and Geraldine well.

This was the very nice email which was sent out -

"Following recent & rapidly developing events, we have been approached with & accepted an offer to relinquish our interest in the restaurant. With the result that Barnard’s Ferragudo closed its doors for the last time on Wednesday evening 28/09/2011.

We would like to take this opportunity firstly, to thank Lena (our second chef) for her help, professionalism & dedication to the job, Lena joined us three days before we opened for the first time on 17th March 2001 & has remained a loyal, hard working & valued member of the team. She has also become a very close friend to the both of us.

We would also like to thank all of you for your custom & support over the last eleven years. It has been our pleasure to serve you during this time & over the years, become friends with many of you.

We are now going to enjoy a nice, well earned & very much overdue break, gather our thoughts & plan our next adventure.

I was led to believe there are to be some major developments in Ferragudo - stylish complexes etc to be build - it looks like they have had a good offer and sold up.
