I'm wondering if any of the Forum members can help and advise please. My mum is 80 this August and would love to have a nice spa treatment day for her birthday. Just us two gals enjoying a glass of champagne , facials, massage etc etc. if there anywhere nr CVO or a taxi ride away that provides this? Mum and dad are visiting us when we are in CVO for a month Sept time. Mum just loves this sort of thing and a swim in the pool (if there is one) would be lovely for her.
I know that there will be some suggestions, so thanks in advance.

Hi Gaynor,

I haven't used the spa facilities but have used the gym, sauna, jacuzzi and indoor swimming pool at Vale d'Oliverias which were very good. The setting is lovely and there is a restaurant and outdoor swimming pool there as well. An easy taxi ride from Carvoeiro as it it set in between Carvoeiro and Ferragudo.

Not sure whether I can include it but if I can't I am sure the mods will remove it :D

Have a great day wherever you end up

I can recommend Vila Vita; they have the facilities to do more than one person at a time.

The full body massage is good and the setting is very pleasant... they also do nails, toes etc.

Hi Gaynor. I hope you are well. I researched this quite extensively earlier this year as I wanted these services while I was over recently with my wife and female friend. I even got a Portuguese friend of mine from Ferragudo involved.
After reading several reviews and listening to my friend's advice I went to Spa Alba at Alba Suites in Albanderia - 15 minutes drive from CVO. 45 euros for a 30 minute massage (I felt like I had been beaten up afterwards!!), 45 euros for a 30 minutes facial and 15 euros for an eyebrow treatment. Other treatments are available. When you book in for a treatment you have full use of the facilities - indoor & outdoor (infinity) pool, suana, steam room and a shower with four settings including jet and rain. All the time you are there you are provided with a lovely fluffy white robe and slippers. Then afterwards dine in the restuarant upstairs over looking the sea.
We thoroughly enjoyed four hours in the spa. Ask for Monica, a lovely South African girl who will look after you. Wherever you go, hope you and mother enjoy it. xx :D

We've recently used most of the facilities at Vale d'Oliverias except the Spa (which I admit doesn't really answer your question), however, the indoor pool (you require a bathing cap 'cos of 'elf and safety), outdoor pool are great and the Olive Tree Restaurant is excellant. Between 6.30 and 7.30 pm they do an Early Bird menu for €20 a head, great food. When we were there earlier this month, they were starting to re-decorate the Spa area.

Thanks Smudger, have been intouch with them already and waiting for pricing (still waiting even after phone call) via email all seem very nice but typical Portuguese now means 2 days time lol!! Probably going to settle for the Vale d'Oliverias

Been trying to find an email or contact number for the Alba Spa but coming up with nothing on website. Have contacted the Vale d'Oliverias and they are working on new pricing tarif so can send nothing at the moment (that's my first choice) I was going to look into the Alba Spa suite for the day but nothing guides me to pricing. Any help ahhh!
I have a month to sort this out so no probs really but being the sort of person I am I like to get sorted. Gaynor :D
