Last year we went to a lovely beach not far from Carvoeiro with double sunbeds with thick mattresses, one was being used to give Thai massages. There was a bar/cafe. We are going again this year, but cant remember the name of the beach....can anyone help please?

Possibly Praia dos Caneiros, on the road to Ferragudo?

My friend & I had dinner at the restaurant at the Caneiros restaurant 2 weeks ago and I can honestly say it was the worst meal I have had in the Cvo area.

Beautiful location though ....

First time I've heard of a bad meal at Rei das Praias. Did you complain, or ask for a change of food???

Of course if they were on a budget, what right do they have in being in such an upmarket establishment.

Caravoeiro 1 why does everything seem to be about money with you, maybe they just had a bad meal.

The owners have built a 10 room boutique hotel at the top of the road from the restaurant. Hotel called Casa Rei das Praias, not surprising. Not heard any reports yet but pictures of hotel look impressive. Article in April - May edition of Essential Algarve. Appreciate publication primarily an advetising medium for the various restaurants, hotels etc but a nice read on a lounger with a glass of chilled vino. Plan to have day at beach and lunch at restaurant. After 6 or 7 visits, yet to be disappointed in food or service.

Have been going there usually once a week for the past 6 years and never had a bad meal. Good service from very happy staff. Best sea view and ambiance any where, you must have been at the wrong place

I think if Carvoeiro1 actually reads my last post he/she may notice that I said it was the worst meal, not the most expensive, nor the worst value, simply the worst meal I have had in the area.

The price was not off-putting at all actually, 73 euros for 2.

It must have been a one-off? I've never had anything other than excellent food and service, and the wine selection is fantastic as well :D
