For those of us that only "talk American" can you tell me what "craic be mighty" means? That way I can have one up on my Irish American wife.

Indeed...a Welshman called Maewyn!
But so what?.....St George..patron Saint of England & Portugal was born in Cappadocia (Turkey ?)
I read that the young Maewyn (St Patrick) was sold into slavery by marauding Irishmen..so had a harsh start in life!
Did he really drive out all the snakes..and is it true there are none in Ireland today?

How do you interpret the craic was mighty?
Had a great time/ laughter/jokes ..a cracking good time?
My old Irish friend Tony always says 'blinking good craic' (hes not allowed to 'swear' when wifes around) but he sure does ..when shes not!

The Irish were certainly out in force with their St Patrick's day parade around Carvoeiro. If you look at the webcam around 5.15 this afternoon you'll catch a glimpse of them!

Think it might be quite lively in the village tonight
