We've booked to stay in a villa near the lighthouse at CVO next the month and would like some information about what decent restaurants and bars there are within walking distance please. It's our first visit to the area so any info would be great. Thanks

Hi Goonball

Here is a list of those in and around Rocha Brava which is close to the Lighthouse:

O Farol; Restaurant - varied menu quite pricey
Jardim Do Farol; - Large menu, european, portuguese, pizza, pasta - Reasonable prices (NO CARDS - CASH ONLY)
Rocha Brava Coffee Shop - Good mix of snack type food to eat in or take away
Rochamar - Pizza and european food - Can be slow if busy.
O Rafaels - V good varied menu - Again can be slow if busy
Julios - Good varied menu - reasonably pricey

There are others but not visited them recently to give an up to date opinion of. Take a look at the Carvoeiro restaurant map which has been set up to see exactly where they all are.

Cheers

J

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. We'll have a hire car but it's good to know that we can wander somewhere nearby.

We stay up near the lighthouse on the clube atlantico site every year. The Bela Vita restaurant at clube atlantico is really lovely. You will find some very good reviews of it on the restaurant listing. It is one of our favourites and easy to walk to from the lighthouse. :D
