I have been busy

www.carvoeiro.com was build using the same software platform over 12 years. I have now restructured the site into a new state of the art content management system.

Before replacing the old site I would be grateful if you would have a look at http://drupal.carvoeiro.com and let me know if you find any errors, broken links or inconsistencies.

You'll find a long awaited surprise on the site :-)

The graphic design might not be top of the pop, but for now I concentrate on usability and content - the rest will come later.

Again thanks to the advertisers, transfer & car rental clients. Without you none of this would be possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Steen, I love the new site! At first glance all seems to be correct and in order. I think the site is "cleaner" and the various sections, like "Eat Algarve" are easier to find, I like the "Weather" info but wish it could be for Lagoa or a place closer to Carvoeiro. But the very best new feature is the 'SURPRISE'!!
Thank you for all your efforts in keeping this website running, it is my first go-to site every morning. Sometimes we forget how much work is involved in this endeavour.

OK folks go and check it out, Heini

Very good! When you visit a site as often as the CVO site, first thing every morning for me, it is great to get it re-vamped.
Am I being incredibly stupid? (don't answer that!!!) I am missing something here as I have not picked up on what the "surprise" is. I guess I will keep visiting until I spot it?!?! Thanks Steen

Very good Steen. All seems great.
Like Heini I wonder if the weather info could be based on somewhere nearer to CVO? I find that the forecasts for Portimao are more reflective of CVO weather than those for Faro.

The module in use at the moment can only extract weather reports from airports - these should be very accurate, but yes Faro Airport is somewhat different. I have not found anything better up to now but will keep looking.

The old equipment in the ice-cream shop does not work any more and I am reluctant to replace it as the location is impossible for reasonable weather reports.

Now should anyone with a local weather station be able to upload the data I might be able to fix something?

This might give you a better weather feed. It covers Portimao and gives various options for embedding in a web site.

I suspect the new cam will need a sunshade, especially in the summer.

Thanks I'll take a look.

Just to note the difference:
The weather module in use at the moment shows the actual weather very accurately (but in Faro airport) - not a forecast.

But I'll be happy to include another module with a forecast.

It still could be fun with actual readings and stats for Carvoeiro (temperatures, rain fall etc.)

It looks great Steen, well done!

Minor point..... on the community page there is an h missing from the Learn how to import a car line! I would be quite happy to proof read for you if it would help? Genuine offer as I know how busy you are. :)

p.s. loving the new webcam!
