LECLERC Supermarket, the one in Parchal, is to close on the 19th November. Not sure if it will be taken over or not the staff seem to think not. Must have been rather a quick decision from head office in France as a considerable amount of money has been spent their recently. Sign of the times ?

No loss to the food buying public! I went there for the first time last Saturday and it was dire.

There really are too many low price supermarkets in the area I am afraid, (in my opinion that is)

We tried it a couple of times after it opened, but not been back recently. Has its demise been the total lack of progress on the new marina complex? In fact, what is happening here? New road layouts put in some time ago. Seems that they have either run out of money or political will! To me it never was a starter in the first place in this financial climate.

For Ellie,
From Lagoa take the road to Estombar this runs you straight into Parchal,Leclerc is situated quite close to the old bridge leading into Portimao and incidently Lidl.

It's hardly surprising as they have another store in Portimao on the way to Alvor.
I think setting up opposite Lidl was not the best decision either
