We have just been informed that our Christmas visit to the Tivoli Almansor has been cancelled, they are closed from the 12th December and re-opening on the 28th December. We have also been informed that they may be closing for up to 10 months during 2011 for a major refurbishment.

We are in the process of rearranging our holiday for over the new year instead of Christmas. This will be our first new year out there as we normally return before the rush at new yerar.

Love the Tivoli, but it does need that face lift....... This has the potential to be one of the best hotels on the Algarve....

Shame about your holiday but you should be able to negotiate a great deal for next xmas.

Perhaps this year Ed and Morag won't be the only two guests over Christmas staying at the Mirachora [sp].

My duaghter is currently planning to marry at the Tivoli in Sept 2011 and we had heard the refurbishment would start in October 2011 , but we are there next week and will hopefully get the authorised version!

I have heard from the Tivoli:

"The Tivoli Carvoeiro will be closed only from 12th to 27th December 2010 for staff holidays and maintenance.".....and from November 2011 for renovation.
