They were my thoughts exactly when I read the article, but as Mark said if you are looking out to sea then it would be the West side!

I believe they are actually talking about the East side of the beach as we know Phillipa and she lives on the East side.

It doesn't matter whether you are looking out to sea or in from the sea they are still the East cliffs.

If you are looking out it is the left-hand side or from a boat the right-hand side

Roy, if you re-read Jan's post, she noted that it was Mark who suggested that West is on the left when looking out to sea.
Methinks she was having a sly dig at him, or maybe all men - given that Roy fell for it
