Many thanks for pointing out where Poppy's is.

I passed it last year......wrong: I parked outside it as the damn holiday tour operator gave me rather vague map to find the villa and a guest in the restaurant got in his car and told me to follow him to find the villa.

The place looks delightful and I want to visit it.

Poppy's is in Vale del Rei between Lagoa and Benagil, a really lovely restaurant with friendly staff, give it a go and let others know what you think.

I would also just like to say that I have always said I was not impressed with E & E because of the treatment I had, I have never liked it even tho' we have tried a few times.

Think it was called O Simpatico or something similar. Portuguese man and Canadian wife. The karaoke night was quite daunting when all the local old boys came in!!!
Nice restaurant though with a lovely homely atmosphere and reasonable prices.

That's the one Cereza, something like that, O Simplicio ? went in there years ago, should imagine its changed hands probably more than once

That's it Sam -O Simplicio - I never could remember it properly. I think it's only changed hands once - to Poppys. Reports weren't too good when it first switched over but I have heard it's much better now but more expensive although it must be 3 years at least since I last went there. On Karaoke night the local old boys would come in for a drink and a sing-song and try to dance with any women brave enough to get up with them flinging them around with great gusto

Sounds a bit like some of the country dances I used to go to in Ireland, except it wasn't Karaoke, more like a couple of old boys with no teeth and a fiddle each and a bunch of Good ol' boys dancing with some wild women. Great fun. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Can honestly say Ive never been to this restaurant....and after hearing Lesley's story of how she was treated, don't think I ever will

Colombos is my favourite.....Specially Fatima's delish chocolate mousse..yummmy

We have been dining here many times over the last 6 years and have never experenced anything but good from start to finish!!!
