Quiet??
Bom Día todos,
looks quiet in the town, from the webcams, is this really the case in late July?

Re: Quiet??
We came back last week and it was quite busy, the last couple of days we could see the difference i.e. the restaurants were busier and more people walking around. The guy we rented our villa from said it is one of the best years he has had for bookings.
Re: Quiet??
We have noticed that the town always looks quiet during the day as apart from the small town beach there is really no reason for holiday makers to come in. But from late afternoon onwards its a different matter.
The shops appear busier and the new branch of the shoe world company seems to be doing good business.

Re: Quiet??
The restaurants seem to be busier, but people don´t spend like the other years. Many are just sharing a dish or are just having a starter with a big bottle of water .... sad but true!

Re: Quiet??
is it really that expensive> I keep hearing this, with the euro rate low against the pound, but I still havent seen it myself. have the drinks gone up disproportionatly and thus why people are seeing a big difference?

Re: Quiet??
I noticed this last year - the beer was ~ €3 so this was more than UK (depends where u r of course) and all the restaurants put their prices up by 20% as well - BBQ's are still cheap though!
Re: Quiet??
5 litre box of decent wine 7Euro - not that I bought any of course
We didnt think it was any more expensive than the UK for shopping/eating out.

Oh dear Gary we cant buy 5litre boxes in Wigan - they still sell things in pints or gallons
You can get a decent pint of sherry (take yer own milk bottle - wash it first though) for £2 though
I rather think of my self as 'you can take the girl out of Lancashire but........................
Re: Quiet??
Very busy tonight and lots of bars offering a pint of lager for euro 1.50
In fact lying in bed now I can hear fireworks....

Lass, gal, wench whatever as long as she's from Lancashire it'll do for me mukka!
Re: Quiet??
May I just say that not all restaurants have put their prices up by 20% - apart from a 0.50 cent increase on some of our dishes 2 years ago, we have not raised our prices in the 4 years that we have been opened. I am sure that there are other bars/restaurants that are also taking the hit with supplier/tax/etc price increases and not passing them on to our customers. Unfortunately, it is a tough time for us all at the moment - let's hope it doesn't last too much longermaccasa wrote:I noticed this last year - the beer was ~ €3 so this was more than UK (depends where u r of course) and all the restaurants put their prices up by 20% as well - BBQ's are still cheap though!

Hi Ma-Ja's
My friends are over in CVO. Do you do early evening specials or anything similar to pre-theatre meals at a better than usual price?
Thanks
