There is a video on another site of what looks like a shark just off a beach nr Tavira.
Given that they are normally deep water fish in the atlantic it could have been sick.
We have seen dolphins form the seafront in Albufeira bay.
Anything like this seen of Carvoeiro. ( Or Carve- where, 0h. , as per Kiss FM )

We saw a school of what must have been 50+ dolphins last January.
We were on a clifftop walk from Centiannes to Benagil

A number of dolphins and whales have been spotted and some washed up on the shore in recent months in the central-eastern side of the Algarve - they had either got lost or were sick. When we went to the Cabanas area of Tavira a month or so ago, the maritime police told us there had been a spotting of something 'extremely large' and were going out to investigate (they had their fingers crossed that it was a mermaid  )

Had a look at the video on Youtube, can't make out what type of shark. Might be a Basking shark, quite prevalent in these waters and harmless.
