I'd like to find one as well - tried 2 and they were ok but charged a lot - €35 for having a crown replaced at one and €50 for an x ray and look at a loose bridge at another.

Try this link, we went to Dr Viera's medical centre and he has a dentist in house. My wife is very fussy about her teeth and she said she would go back to him, so that's a good recommendation.

I don't think €35 euros for replacing a crown is bad. I was charged €60 when it happened to me. I have used George McKee the tall american who works with Anna Swartz in Lagoa near the Camara offices. He is very good but I will be interested to see what other people have to say about prices. The problem is I suppose that I have no idea what sort of charges apply in the UK where I understand that access to treatment under the NHS is very difficult to find.

I have also been to see George McKee in Lagoa and he was very good, but unfortuanately he now works in the Middle East! I am now booked in with another dentist there next Wednesday, so I will let you know how I get on.

Ma Ja
George McKee was certainly good but not worth travelling that distance for. I shall be interested to hear how you get on because obviously I am long overdue a check up!

The practice in Lagoa is :- Multiclinica Medifi

Phone number 282341482

Emergencies :- 961941736

The surgery is ultamodern, I saw Hugo Nascimento. I paid 70 euros for an appointment.

Very good....but not cheap, but apparantly cheaper than the dentist in Carvoeiro.....but thats only reportage!

Hi steve - well it took 5 mins max - using a type of superglue - so I thought €35 was expensive.

Dr Viera's centre has a Dentist that calls at the practice. Still cheaper than Holland, which is becoming one darn expensive country to live in. Still only another 5 years and counting before we can come home. :D
