My family and I have visited Carvoeiro several times but only when our children were young. The last time we visited our Daughter was 14. We are coming again only this time our Daughter is 18 and she will have her 18 year old friend with her.
Is there any nightlife going on for them? Bars for their age group etc?

Please chat back

Same sort of thing looming for me! (16, 15 & 14 this year)

Mungo's will be the place to go this year, I believe the bar next door will be set up as a more adult bar so you can keep a bit of an eye on them! On the QT of course 8)

Not sure when the beach parties start - ask the bar staff at some of the bars and they will tell you where things are happening!

Is Bote open yet or is it a summer thing? If so, what night is best/busiest?

Also, what are the best other bars in town for drinks after a meal?

Bar Talvez, confortable adult bar.
Charleys Bar overlooking the square, great for people watching.
Jazz Bar at Monte Carvoeiro Kat Balu will be back on friday nights in from easter we have been told.
Much more civilised than the repetetive DVD'S played far too loudly at the cocktail Garden, Please turn the volume down a bit and get a bigger selection for 2011.
You have a nice bar.

My Girls love Mungos 19 16 and 13, it is suitable for all age groups, but in the summer lots of very young people, when you out?

We will try Mungos then! Coming out on Friday just for 5 days so not sure whether the bars and Bote will be open for the season yet. But sure we can still find some bars! We probably only want a late night on Saturday - may be worth getting a taxi further afield?

You have a choice between Pria Da Rocha or Albufeira both a fair distance and Taxi fare away.

I agree with EMM, Carvoeiro doesn't really do it for 18 year olds for a whole week or 2 so you have to get away a bit, my daughters prefer Praia da Rocha over Albufeira for whatever reason; I drive them over there and give them €20 for the cab back; they do all right for drinks, most bars/ clubs offer free for groups of girls to get them in.
The foam night in Bote is popular too, so in a week 2 or 3 nights to Rocha and a night in the Bote seems to keep them happy. :)

That´s only in summer - long time to go ´til then, I fear. The Bote only opened Con arnival (and that was rather a shame) it has never been opened again.... nightlife in Carvoeiro seems to be dead ... except for the Jazz Club which has really been nice on Friday and Saturday nights.

Lets be honest , if you come to Carvoeiro expecting a vibrant nightlife then you have chosen the wrong resort.

There is live music in some of the bars , also summer in the small square outside Mungos there were regular performers and as you say the Jazz bar at Monte Carvoeiro is worth a trip.
A music bar did open last year at Monte Carvoeiro but it closed because of lack of custom.

The much discussed Black Stove is pobably the only other in town venue that could be set up to attract a younger crowd but again seems to have missed the opportunity.
