Hello People,
Just to warn you, keep all your windows and doors locked at night. We got robbed for the 4th time on saturday night.
We now have alarms on the windows and doors. You can get them from IZI in Lagoa, and they are very cheap. Just under 4€ for 2!! Well worth it..
cheers

There was an attempted robbery on Monday this week 10:00 AM in Sesmarias/Carvoeiro clube. The owner interrupted them and the guys fled. The police said that due to the construction going on across the street, it was probable that their house was being watched and reported on.

i myself have recently been burgled and it can be very upsetting, i was not at home but quite disturbed to think he had watched my husband and young son leave the villa and then decided to enter the property even though the tv was on and a fire going he had no concerns about entering, my husband returned 1 hour later to find the villa stripped,we have an alarm that takes pictures,so we managed to have five photos of a rather chubby robber !!! how he managed to fit through the window is beyond me !!!anyway we had the alarm put in two weeks beforehand and hey presto were robbed ? I have come to the conclusion it is only material things and i need to get on with it, however i do feel for these elderly couples who are isolated and living in fear I spoke to my brother in law who is considering setting up a company here in Portugal, who do actually respond when called with six rather huge men to protect people and there homes it is already working in some rough areas of the uk, people pay a nominal weekly fee to have the home patrolled and then of course the best part is the quick response of this security team, I myself would pay for this service if living in a isolated area like some of the villa owners do, these people should not live in constant fear when living somewhere as beautiful as the algarve, it is not about vigilante tactics but how can we rely on the police for protection two hours after the crime ?? if you think this would work too please post me your comments lisa
