Try Loule - its a town just off the motorway between Faro & Carvoeiro. The stadium at Loule is being rebuilt & will be the venue for games during Euro 2004 so I assume they must play a decent standard of football there. Let's hope that Wales qualify - doing OK so far!

Grupo Desportivo de Lagoa is the local team, they have 6 different aged teams so there is always someone playing "at home". Hope you go and watch them they need more supporters.

The previous answers were interesting but really the only local team playing serious footy is Portimonense (Portimao´s team)

They are currently 6th in the 2nd "Liga" - that is the one behind the Super Liga (i.e the one Benfica etc are in) They have hopes of promotion but .......

I recall seeing them about 20 years ago playing Porto, Benfica, Sporting etc but I think they will always be 2nd league.

For local stuff Silves are good. 5th in 3rd Division Series F - sort of UK Conference minus stuff

How close to the area is this prestigious football
club of the portuguese second division B side? When does the portuguese league finish? Is Rafael still a top quality striker?
