We look at both the BBC for Portimao and the wunderground accessed through www,algarvenet.com.

Some times ( as today ) they differ.

The BBC forcasts heavy rain yet on wunderground 20% chance of rain.

Which is the most reliable ??

For accurate short term forecasts I use :-

http://www.meteo.pt/pt/

but for a bit longer term views I prefer these 2 to the BBC which I find unreliable :-

You can also try this one which I find particularly accurate.
http://www.windguru.cz

Under spot, as Carvoeiro is not listed, use Ferragudo instead.

Think there are two main weather stations for Algarve, Faro and Sagres. If you request the forecast for Portimao, you will often get the Sagres forecast, which is usually wetter than Carvoeiro, hence the problem today. I use the Portugal Met Office for a short term forecast, and AccuWeather for anything past 3 days. Not always spot-on, but the best I have found.
