Her indoors has realised that as we are coming out for 5 months, she wont have her trusted hairdresser on hand!!

Can anybody recommend a good hairdresser in the area.....somebody good at cutting and at subtle colouring for high and lowlights

My friend tells me that the hairdresser on the right going up restaurant hill is very good. Sorry do not know the name

Funnily enough I suspected Julia was going to ask that question. Apparently the hairdresser at the Carvoeiro tennis club is good.
Tell her that I have spotted a council run excercise club, halfway on the left on the outroad, just after the chinese shop that does a very vigourous hoola hoop class.

My hairdresser - Amanda - is fab! at cutting colouring,highlights, lowlights, weddings in fact anything to do with hair - shes lovely with it - and she is mobile - PM me for her details x

Victor Picardo, their salon is on Rua do Farol on the left hand side as you come down the hill I think, I use their salon in Lagoa which is opposite the Fatacil. Tell Julia they're the Portuguese equivalent of Toni & Guy, won't mean anything to you but she'll know what I mean . (& no rude comments about the state of my hair Bruce, just remember I know where your casa is).

always use Victor Picardo, Ivone is the Style Director up on retaurant hill CVO. I'm very particular about my hair and will only use this salon.

I'd fly the hairdresser out for a couple of days.... I couldn't do without my hairdresser, Natalie, it has took me many years to find one I like and who understands my requirements. I even waited 5 months to see her again when she went on maternity leave rather than see anyone else!

I had a colleague who went to Victor P's and was not impressed! I promise you Sharen, Mandy is fab!! I, like you, was more concerned about finding a good hairdressers when I came to live here - so much so, that I was planning to go back every couple of months when first came out ridiculous of course!! Now that Mandy lives here its brill!!

Do you know, in all the time I lived in Lagoa (both there & near Porches) I never visited a hairdresser!
Reason being, my oldest son's girlfriend had trained as a hairdresser and when they came out on hols (3 times a year)...she would wash, cut and style my hair for me.
Bt this topic is interesting as when we eventually retire back to Algarve, I have some idea of where to go....
Suzie, are you saying that Mandy(white rabbit?) is a hairdresser?

Hi Ellie, No, not White Rabbit Mand, another Mandy, Amanda Williams she lives over in Espiche but comes over here to do my hair, and others. She is pretty good!!!

What about Erica's on Rua do Casino opposite us. She is a fully trained English hairdresser who as had her business here for 20+ years (now that says something doesn't it?) Chrissie, her assistant, also does high/low lights and a fantastic Indian head massage.

In our opinion, they are both very good and do not charge the earth to have your hair cut, highlighted etc.

We have seen many known people in their hairdressing salon, including the woman that writes our monthly newsletter and her esteemed husband, the bridal party of the very large Irish wedding that descended on Carvoeiro in the summer, and us of course!!!

Give them a try, I am sure you will not be disappointed
