HI there,
After a very enjoyable week near carvoiero last Oct , we decided to return , and are staying at the golf village.
What I need help with is that we are spending a week at the golf village and then intend travelling to Lisbon for a few nights before flying home from Lisbon.

We want to travel by train so we can enjoy some of the countryside etc on the way , now where do we catch the train , albefeira seems the most direct ,or am I missing somewhere else , we will be using a taxi to get to to the station , also don't really want to have to change trains on route .

thanks for any help in advance

Trains go to Lisbon from Tunes, near Algoz and inland from Albufeira - either the Alfa, fast train, or the normal slower train which stops at every station

Best station for central Lisbon is Entrecampos, public transport in Lisbon is also very good and very reasonable

For timetables, tickets etc the website is http://www.cp.pt (http://www.cp.pt/cp/displayPage.do?vgne ... RD&lang=en for the english version) - you can book online, including choosing a seat, and print out your ticket

Hi Ktee is correct. In august we booked on line ( I think its CP trains) and drove from Carvoeiro to Tunes,
parked outside the station. Got the train around 7.30 (it took about 25 mins to drive from CVO with help from the sat nav)
Arrived in Lisbon (entracampo) two and a half hours later. The trains were on time and we had time for a coffee at tunes
before we borded. A buffet car was also on the train. We got the 7.30pm train back. The whole cost was around
130 euros return for four of us. (oh and we stayed at the four star Mondial hotel for around 80 euros)

Hi All ,

Many thanks for the replies , tried to book on cp website but it shows no trains from tunes to lisbon after 5th October , I will be travelling on the 17th.

Just wondered wether they just haven't advertised these dates yet or wether this is a no go !.

Back to the drawing board.

There will be trains after 5 October, we've travelled to Lisbon by train at all times of the year, just keep checking the website every few days, you should be able to book around a month before you travel
