Hi guys
I am new to the forum. Considering booking a villa for Easter 2010 (27.3.10 - 10.4.10). Concerns about weather and general activity in Carvoeiro, such as all bars and restaurants open etc...... I guess I need convincing so any "inside" information gratefully received Thanks x

Thanks Michael. The villa I am considering booking is Casa Mondial, I believe you have stayed in this villa. Any information good or bad gratefully received.
Also considering Casa Peshlubec if anyone has any info on either villa there's a beer in it for you ha ha

Lamby, it is a wonderful villa. We've been going there for the last five years over Christmas & New Year (mostly) and it's like our second home . . . without the maintenance costs - we let Mike pay those! Have you looked on the web site?: LOOK HERE

My only bit of advice is . . . . stay out of our Christmas Cupboard! If you are tempted to poke around in there, leave us a few beers will you?

I haven't stayed at Casa Peshlubec but as I never plan to, I can't comment.

Wow. What a chance to get to "chat" with someone who has stayed at Casa Mondial. As I am sure you will agree, getting as much info about where you are staying is great.
I must admit, Mike has been great - I have exchanged emails and chatted on the phone and he has gone out of his way to give me as much info as he can.
One thing I have not asked is the walking to the centre and in and about the centre. I had a knee replacement nine months ago. Aslo, the views from the villa - can you see the sea?

We are going to Casa Peshlubec in the nest couple of weeks
Will post a review on here upon our return.
The dealings I have had with the owner so far have been extremely good.
He has answered every e-mail promptly and allayed any concerns we have had.

It is a fair walk to the square and the beach, between 30 and 40 minutes depending upon your mood and ability. Although it is downhill most of the way - it is uphill most of the way coming back!

Yes, you can see the sea quite easily. It's not close, but you can see it. Also, because of its location the pool isn't overlooked by anyone. If you've a mind to you can sunbathe sans costume you can do . . . . not that I have ever done such a thing!

If you decide to dine in more than dine out the kitchen is fully equipped and is more than capable of providing a full roast dinner (we've had many Christmas dinners). Or you microwave a ready meal or two.

Mind you, there is one major drawback - Pato's pad is just around the corner!

Looks like Carvoeiro will be getting an Easter visit from the Lamb family. Despite a very good offer on a villa in Sesmarias. I think Sesmarias is a little too far out.

We've stayed in Sesmarias before and loved it which is why we are returning again next week.
You would need a car to get about but a taxi to Carvoeiro is about 6 Euros.
Sesmarias village is small but there are many restaurants in 5 minute drive

Thanks, Mike, but Sharen likes to tack on the Bank Holidays to stretch out her holiday entitlement.

btw Lamby - keep out of our Christmas cupboard. I have booby-trapped it. If you open it you will be showered with artificial snow!

Did I mention I am a safe cracker by profession. A Christmas cupboard will pose no problem
