Hallo ! I will be spending 10 days in Carvoeiro in August and I want to
take a course in Kitesurfing.
CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHERE IS
THE NEAREST INSTRUCTOR / SCHOOL FOR
WINDSURFING / KITESURFING?

I think it may be Meia Praia just this (Cvo) side of Lagos

I had lunch in Alvor today & passed a sign for a kitesurfing school Alvor is just beyond Portimao so closer than Lagos.

I really like Alvor too, this was the first time I had really had a good look round the town,I hadn't bothered before as when we looked at the area around Alvor some years ago it just seemed to be one big building sight & shoulder to shoulder developments, but recently we discovered the town & marina are really nice, only been living here three & a half years, quick ehh? The restaurant we ate in was excellent I think it was called 'A lota' (?) there was a restaurant up the hill a little & opposite called 'The Captains Table'. We spent a very pleasant afternoon there & wandering around the little town, in fact we're going back to do the same or very similar next week.

On the kitesurfing note don't they have the international championships there every year?

They do have a windsurfing championship at Meia Praia each year -ALWAYS windy there!

Yers, the kitesurfing school in Alvor is good. I met someone in my favourite beach restuarant in Alvor that had been to the school and she highly recommended it.
Blue, Alvor is lovely and some very pleasant restuarants.Restoringue restuarant on the beach is fab( spelling wrong, but sumat like that)It is where a few well known people have been. Prices good and views to die for. Another place to eat is the oldest restuarant in Alvor, right along the quay at the end in front of the fishermens nets and where they hang out for chitchats. Cannot remember its name, its family run by a matriarchial mother who swipes her sons who are in their late 50's with a fly swat when they are too slow. The sardines and lunch dining is excellent and cheap. It is listed in the Alvor freemap. You will not be dissapointed, its lovely to sit eat the freshly bbq sardines etc.
Great kitesurfing here but also further up the coast is an exceleent school, world renouned on a huge strech of beach, reminiscent of the wild cornish coast, between Cape St Vincent and Algezur.
