Hello, First post here so please be kind.

Me and my fanily have just booked a weeks holiday in September at Villa Jacaranda http://holidays.monarch.co.uk/villas/Po ... illas/ddmz \

I am trying to locate the actual location of the villa. All i can find out is the general area of where it is near the Vale de Milho golf course.

Does anyone know exactly where it is? Has anyone ever stayed there?

Any information on this villa would be great.

I have tried to do a search on the forum but have not really come up with anything yet as there seems to be many different Villa Jacarandas.

Thanks in advance

Simon

I'm not sure if the pool is heated. I'm guessing not. Hopefully someone on here will have some more info on the villa soon.

If I remember rightly we stayed near this villa 2 years ago, it is about 5 mins walk from the VDM restaurant, coming out of the village up restaurant hill and left into VDM I think it is 2nd left and along that road. Within walking distance of Julios, and a small supermarket. I dont think you will be disappointed.

Is there a map anywhere that I can download to see this area?

Sorry for being a pain

Thanks

Simon

I checked this out today on my dog walk. Unless there are two Villa Jacarandas it is number 20. This is at the northern edge of the development in a quiet area just around the corner from the Restaurant Vale de Milho.

If you go to the maps link on the main CVO.com webpage you can access the Areia dos Moinhos and Vale de Milho map. The map is not too accurate because there is a sand road which runs up along side numbers 19 20 and 21 with a T junction at the the top. Turning left at this junction you will find the Restaurant VDM on your right. This road/track is an extension of the short bit of road shown diagonally opposite plot no 6.

The nearest bar and restaurant is the Vale de Milho restaurant which is no more than 150 metres from the villa There is also a bar and restaurant in the VDM Golf Club house. Next to the reception in Areia dos Moinhos is the popular Ponto do Encontro bar and restaurant.

If you go south past the VDM golf club to the coast road and turn left you will find Julios restaurant more or less immediately on the left and shortly after that on the right hand side of the road is the new O Rafael restaurant. Walk a bit further and you reach the Rocha Brava holiday resort which has a snack bar and a mini market. There is a restaurant in the complex and two others just outside.

The centre of Carvoeiro where there are umpteen bars and restaurants is about 20 minutes walk from the villa. It is uphill on the way back and a taxi might be advisable for the return journey.

Ola Villa Jacaranda is situated in the residential area of Vale do Milho. You have many options of which route and once your balance has been paid you will received directions from Monarch Holidays. If you know Carvoeiro town centre you travel up restuarante hill heading towards the direction of (follow signs for Vale do Milho Golf Club)Centiennes Beach pass this on your right take next left to VDM Golf up the hill past the golf course turn left at the crossroads, follow the road round and take next right.
The villa is lovely and has the biggest pool I have ever encountered in a villa (I have worked as a tour operator rep for 7 years).

You are within walking distance to Vale do Milho Golf Course families welcome about 10mins, Centiennes Beach about 15 mins, Rocha Brava & Centiennes 15mins.

I trust the above information is of assistance and as I said once your balance is paid you will receive directions to the villa from your tour operator.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Where is the nearest supermarket please?

Just we will need to go and do some shopping when we get there. Hopefully we can do enough so that we don't need to go everyday. We do enough shopping in this country, lol

Hi Simon,
We own a villa on VDM near to Jacaranda, so know you will have a great holiday.
If you could hire a car that would be quite an advantage as most places are quite a walk from your villa.
The nearest small supermarket is at the entrance of Rocha Brava - a 10 minute walk there but quite a hike back up the hill in the heat!
The nearest large supermarket is Intermarche and would require a taxi/car - it is about an 8-10 minute drive if you go the 'back route'
Suggest you look under the topic "FAQ" - "Maps". There is one that shows the location of all properties on VDM.
With the help of this you might be able to find your villa on Googlemaps - satellite view!

There is lots more info under FAQ about what to see and do in the area.
Enjoy your holiday. :)

Vale do Milho is definitely not the most convenient place to be without a car - your holiday will be much easier and more enjoyable if you can hire a car
