How close to completion is the square? Is it possible for a resident member to give us their 'official' report on a regular basis?

Perhaps Redford would go out and do the honours for us all, at least it would be a pleasure to hear his personal views of the outcome and visual aspect of the current changes to the square and its road surroundings

Thanks Steen for closing down a thread which had got out of hand. Would hate to put off the new members who up to now have been praising this forum. And thanks Michael for opening a new thread, even if, I suspect a little tongue in cheek. Some of us do care passionately about Carvoeiro, and like to keep in touch when we are not there. The square and associated roadworks must be the most important change in many years, and we want to see it done well.

I'm beginning to think that the section in front of Matabixo is being used as a semi storage area for the works on the out road and also parking for the trucks and vans. If it is, then it's going to be a while :( We go out for a short two week break on the 1st 8) 8) and will report back whilst there assuming no one else has come back with a definitive answer.

Unfortuantely, Barry, no one can actually say when the square will be finished. The previous thread kept recycling the same old questions and the same old answers. We should appoint someone (EMM?) to be our on-the-spot reporter and let him/them report to us as and when something actually happens/changes.

One of the business owners in Rua do Barranco said the current work should be finished on 20 June, then more work starting again next autumn/winter

When I come in September will I be able to turn right up the hill towards Solferias (sp.) when approaching towards the (old) in-road?

I don't see why not, that part of the village has not been affected at all

I don't think there are any plans for work to be carried out on Solferias hill - not sure why there would be

WE noticed that the granit blocks put there to stop cars parking on the pavements are being damaged.
Its a real pity as the narrowed area of the IN road is looking good.
It is probably delivery vehicles who are responsible even though there are parking spaces for them.

The last picture is really nice. It looks very modern . . . but in a CVO sort of way. :D

It fits in well with my poem CLICK HERE - MEMBERS ONLY.
