We will be returning to Pequena Casa do Vale Centianes (the ex-First Choice, now Thomson), the one bedroom villa above the Mona Lisa restaurant, in a few weeks. We (I mean "I", women don't lose things) have lost the Swedish owners e-mail address and would like to contact them prior to our visit. Tut, tut Bruce. Didn't know you were the board troll. It's actually quite nice up there - no blind bend up top, for sure. You rarely hear anything from the Mona Lisa either. You couldn't see the Colina Sol until the owner cut down a tree, mind you, the tree was causing subsidence, but he has other plans for the garden. Anyway, nice view of the cliffs and the sea, which I like. The other big plus is that the villa is within the owners own property, so there is less of a worry about theft, though we never leave anything to chance. They are a really nice couple as well. So all in all, a pretty rare kind of property, a villa with pool for two people.

We are your neighbours at the top of the hill....just opposite Algarve 2000. At least you dont have to walk far to the beach.

lol - small world. Are there any restaurants worth visiting further out from here (I was thinking by foot)? We usually only ever head into the village to eat out. I like to walk in, the 15 min walk helps work up an appetite, but often as not get a taxi home, especially if stopping for a nightcap or two.

There is supposed to be quite a nice Italian (again) about 5 minutes walk in the other direction from you on the main road. I think it's called Julios, but I havent tried it.
There is a decent Pizza place up near us, but I wouldnt recommend Algarve 2000

Julios s mainly typical fish restuarant with lots of other things. Certanly not Italian, unless it has been taken over. A little expensive, but we have always had good servce,good food, good ambience and he likes me gettng tipsy, we usually have the plumper man lookng after us. They used to/stll do? have a man wth his family on a regular basis that was in a motorized chair and was like the guy in the movies who died the other year, the guy that could not move, Was he not the superman guy, my brain gone dead but you get the drft.
Its a great place, we have never been disapointed.
But fotr fun, atmosphere, great laugh, greatb pzzas and other Italian meals and hospitality you cannot beat Mona lIsas
