Hi Guys

Can you help ? We have visited many times and have often eaten at a Restaurant just past the entrance to Colina Village - for the life of us we cannot remember the name of it - we have family visiting in a couple of weeks and have recommended this place to them. Can anyone help ? Thanks in advance.

I think you are referring to the Poço Partido restaurant.

Now I have heard the name I am sure that is the one !!! Thank you - Is there anyone who could recommend places to eat in the Salicos Estate - not been that way before and will be staying there end of May.

Salicos estate....that's a new one on me....where is that???

If you come in past Intermarche, turn left at the traffic lights and then keep to the left instead of following the right hand turn up to Colina Village you will eventually reach the entrance to the Salicos estate on your left hand side, marked if I remember by a very large clay pot.

This is an upmarket residential area and does not contain any restaurants but there are two cheap restaurants nearby and you pass Nunos restaurant on the way in I have described. Not too far away are Poppys restaurant, Quinta do Rosal and the restaurant at the Vale del Rei hotel

Brasserie Rosal in Vale del Rei is lovely try it, great food, good service and wine. Poppy's we haven't tried for a while now it used to be a good value type place. Brasserie Marina is also very good.

Roma is just past Salicos on the main road - think it is still open - or you could walk to ADM and the restaurant nr reception there - bit of a trek . As previous posts - this is a small select residential development and really you will need to drive or taxi into town for a choice of restauarants

Thanks Guys - will have a look at all the recommendations made when we arrive, which is only two weeks away, not that we are counting ..................... !!!! Have to say that it is a little further out of town than we have been before, but hey, you have to try don't you.

Can I just amend my report of Brasserie Rosal in Vale del Rei, It has changed hands and has now gone down market, wouldn't recommend it now.

Poppy's is lovely we went here quiet a few times during our 3 week summer vacation. Lovely food and good service.
