Where can I see Portuguse films? Is there a strong Brazilian influence?Who are the stars? Will the Lagoa cinema be re-opened?We visit Silves cinema when in residence.I have great interest in filmworld-my granddaughter is taking degree in directing/writing/filmmaking-she&colleague soon to have their documentary shown local cinemas in BournemouthUK. Myolder son is actor-he is wizard in latestHarryPotter2 film,&he appears in Tomb Raiders 2,alongside Angelina Jolie-says shes a real babe! While"resting",he had strange co-incidence-asked if he wanted to "earn a few bob"doing securitywork,it turned out to be"looking after"the stars"at,guess what?,H.Potter2,Premier,Leicester squ! He met KennethBranagh&Julie Walters who he had not met on set-said she is sucha warm friendly person. This lead to "earning a few more bob",doing same at the Bond Premier&meeting the stars.Because of his work&interest, hes met Alec Guiness,Peter O'Toole,Chuck Heston,Derek Jacobi,John Voight&many others.

Unfortunatly nearly all the new Portuguese films seem to just be a lot of violence, bad language and sex, and yes I have seen a few.Try renting out on video some of the old ones with Amalia and Vasco Santaner (I think that's his name) they are considered classics
